The TRRR Texas Reproductive Rights Rally WEbsite:
Thank you if you joined us for the 45th TX Roe V Wade Anniversary Celebration Rally on the South Steps of the Texas State Capitol on Saturday January 20th, 2018 from 1p to 4p! Keep an eye on this website. We will be back in 2019 for another march and the 46th Texas Roe V Wade Rally (date to be announced). T-shirts are still available on t-spring!
Join our year round community pages to stay updated about future events and to keep a finger on the pulse of the Reproductive Justice Movement in Texas and our Nation:
This event is a peaceful annually repeating independent grassroots celebration of the historic Roe V. Wade Supreme Court decision (click here to learn more). We will have an engaging and diverse lineup of inspiring speakers including keynote speaker State Representative Donna Howard, some spoken word acts, and great local music acts. Please join us for our community information tables hosted by a variety of key local activism organizations. It is a valuable opportunity for women's rights activists to gather, connect, converse, celebrate, and support each other. We welcome anyone and everyone who supports Reproductive Justice. We will even have a table just for the kids with coloring and bubble activities (if it's not too windy). More information will be announced on this site as it becomes available!
Celebrating this anniversary is especially important because of the numerous legislative attacks on women's rights passed in Texas and the rest of our Nation over the last few years. There is a concerted effort underway to undermine the Roe V Wade decision by destroying women's access to reproductive healthcare like safe legal abortion and even birth control. Blocking access to reproductive healthcare only increases mortality rates, and puts added stress on families via unplanned pregnancies. These decisions disproportionately impact people in marginalized groups such as people of color, LGB people, Trans people, and survivors of abuse. Let's stand together and make our voices heard to preserve reproductive healthcare access in the State of Texas, and our Nation as a whole.
